Edmonton, AB (May 9, 2023) – GeoVerra is committed to supporting and giving back to the communities in which their team operates. In 2021, the company launched its GV Gives Back program, which formalizes its dedication to being active in local initiatives in a positive way. The program allows team members to support organizations they volunteer with through an annual donation budget. But it doesn’t stop there, GeoVerra is also dedicated to helping their clients with their own volunteering efforts because of they believe that “we’re greater together”.
GeoVerra partnered with their valued client, Fluor Canada (Fluor) through Fluor’s Care Canada volunteering committee, to take on a unique volunteer opportunity, a greenhouse expansion project for Hull Services in Calgary. Hull Services is an organization that has had a long reputation for providing leading-edge mental health services to children, youth, and families. They work with those who have experienced significant challenges, offering them an opportunity to seek well-being and happiness with a focus on mental health. Hull Services green house and garden was built by Fluor in 2014 and now serves as a calm oasis for therapeutic care.
GeoVerra’s team was happy to be involved in this project. The team provided a complete site survey and CAD drawings of the existing buildings, including the greenhouse, ground conditions, and utilities. These drawings were then used to prepare for the greenhouse additions, which includes a deck, prep counter, sink, and pergola. The project was fully funded with the help of some amazing partners, including Visionscapes Landscaping, Fresh Kitchen design teams, Tree Canada, SiteOne Landscape Supply (formerly known as BURNCO Landscape Centres), and lots of community and local business support.
