GV Gives Back This Holiday Season

Our GV Gives Back program has evolved throughout the year- it’s not just about employee sponsorship, but also about what the business is doing for client partners and local office initiatives. Check out a few of the great things we’ve done this holiday season – something we like to call the Spirit of GVing!

Trading Travel Mugs for Charitable Donations

This year, we decided to forgo the cheesy branded client Christmas gifts to give people something more meaningful – an opportunity to make a difference. GeoVerra has donated $23,000 this holiday season through Canada Helps, and we’ve asked our clients to allocate the funds to charities that mean the most to them. Because the world doesn’t need another travel mug – it needs do-gooders, like our partners.

Kitimat Teams up with JFJV

Bruce the Moose is on the loose! Our team members Kitimat spread some serious Christmas spirit last week. The team raised money to buy toys and food for a local drive organized by our partners at JFJV and LNG Canada. Thanks to the team’s donations and a GV match, they raised $1,125 to spend on items for the community. If you didn’t see the cute video of Elyse and Serianna, click here and give it a like! P.S. See if you can spot Bruce the Moose (our GV Gives Back mascot) in some of the photos – he’s quite the shopper!

Christmas Parties – they’re not just about gathering

A few of our offices took it upon themselves to add a “Gives Back” component to their Christmas parties this year. Thanks to the following offices for continuing to keep our local communities top-of-mind this holiday season.

  • Calgary: Raised $290 for the Canadian Mental Health Association and five large bins of non-perishables for the Food Bank
  • FSJ: Collected $290 for the FSJ Firefighters Charitable Society
  • Kelowna: Collected $190 and a bin of non-perishables for their local Food Bank

In total, we’ve donated over $41,000 to organizations across the country this year through various GV Gives Back initiatives. Needless to say, it’s something we’re pretty proud of.

Happy holidays, everyone!
